There are new things to see and photograph every day. So much so that its hard to find time to deal with posting.
Our first trip out from Leuven where we are based was to the north where we took some time to visit Ypres and the huge cemetery close to Pashendale. Here are some of the photos – enjoy the set I have begun at Flikr.
Ypres was the place where my grandfather was wounded in 1916. He ended up losing a leg but also ended up in hospital in England where he met and married my grandmother. Good can come of bad things.

A bit ago the people who make these interactive maps asked if I would consider allowing them to shortlist a phot I took last summer when Leo and visited The Field Museum in Chicago.
The museum is a fascinating place holding a collection of archeological finds to insects and natural science displays. It holds something that will entrance people of all and almost any interest. My photo looks down into the open main floor and entrance hall. It really requires more than a day to explore. Only problem is sensory overload – there is so much to see.
There are many tasks I need to buckle down and work on the rest of this week. The sermon is coming but it has not come easily. The quiet in my house now that everyone has gone home is good but it is easy to procrastinate and otherwise find ways to waste time.
The computer is a great tool and also a great distraction.
I have a set of photos taken over Christmas posted at Flikr
Now back to work.
